Here’s What Our Customers Have to Say

“My first experience with Birch Tree Care was positive from start to finish. Tony came out the day after I called, sent a prompt and reasonable estimate the next day, and scheduled my work for ten days later. The crew did a great job removing an overgrown yew and its stump very near my house, and also pruning a maple and crabapple. Some deep root fertilizing got done even sooner. Tony is a knowledgeable arborist and the company has great equipment. I couldn't be happier, highly recommend them, and am glad I found them.”

Lauri P.

“Paul Asleson visited our property to estimate the work, and helped me and my neighbor understand work that would likely need to be done in the future.  He gave us a lot of time.  The crew that showed up was efficient and professional.  The clean-up was outstanding.  We have cottonwood trees and through the years have had a number of tree services, these guys were by far the best.  And at a fair price too!”

TONY SYLVESTER

Partner and Vice President

My father started a tree care company in 1976, which became a major part of my life growing up and into adulthood. Watching his passion for this industry along with his attention to detail towards every customer, taught me the importance of customer relationships and business.

I worked for my father’s company for 20 years and in 1998, I went through climbing certification school to learn the proper pruning and climbing techniques for industry standards. Partnering with Birch Tree Care was a very easy decision for me. Everyone at BTC has the same work ethic, passion and attention to detail—we all care very much about our customers and the services we provide.

Helpful Tips for St. Paul Homeowners

As a homeowner or property manager, you must be wondering if there are certain laws laid out by the state of Minnesota regarding tree planting, pruning, and removal on private property. According to the St. Paul bylaws, property owners are free to plant trees on their own property. Tree pruning and removal, on the other hand, require permits from the city. The city has the right to accept or deny the permit request depending on the best interest of the community.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to cut down a tree?

The best time to cut down a tree is when you think it poses a danger to you and your property. Even a bout of wind or extreme weather can weaken the tree further and cause more damage to your property. Since St. Paul has its fair share of storms, make it a point to keep an eye out for any trees that could cause harm to your property.

If you think your tree might be dangerous or it needs to be cut down, give us a call right away at 651.372.3402 and our arborists will safely remove the tree.

Why invest in tree care?

Plants require care just like everything else in the world. The more you nurture and take care of your yard, the better your property value will be.

Remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It is much easier and cheaper to regularly care for your trees than to only take care of them when there is a problem. Our plant health care services will help your plants thrive all year long.

How do I care for my trees in the winter?

Winterizing your trees is a very important step due to the harsh climate here in St. Paul. In order to guard a tree against the biting cold, add mulch to insulate the tree and use plastic tree wrap to protect young trees from rodents. Make it a point to clear accumulating snow off branches to reduce the strain on the tree and to avoid adding salt near the tree as well.

If you have any questions about winterizing your trees, feel free to give us a call at 651.372.3402 and one of our experienced arborists will be happy to assist you.
